The topic has not been discussed for a long time but I decided to join it because my question has as much as possible a part in common with this topic.
I have been searching for quite a long time for information on this topic and the answers are variously divided.
I wanted to ask you for your opinions on your experience on this topic and maybe someone knows how it is based on some legal basis.
Whether the installation of such a camera in a block of flats where there is a housing community specifically in the recess of my window is an interference in the common area or not. Taking into account that in this niche is laid elevation from the funds of the community. The photo that I posted is just a preview photo so that it is 100% clear which place is involved. Or maybe the same question again but about the window sill.

    Greetings

Residential building with colorful facade, with two windows marked with arrows.

The facade is a common part of the building. I heard about a case of an affair/arbitration after the installation of a bracket for a satellite TV antenna. The community was already preparing a lawsuit for reimbursement of the cost of repairing the facade, but the installer managed to come to an agreement directly with the facade contractor and the case was settled without court.

The camera in the window recess, mounted on two slugs to the Styrofoam, has a smaller caliber of "crime".
What is the position of the Board of Directors of your community on this issue? Maybe for him it will not be a problem?
What material are the window sills made of? If from sheet steel, then buy a magnetic base for a CB-Radio antenna and mount the camera to it.

This is what you have meetings for, to make a statement that you will be installing such monitoring and that it is necessary for you to monitor your property. Alternatively, you can request that the community install 4 cameras around the building as part of the monitoring of the common area.
I have had a camera in a window recess for 10 years now, a pan-tilt-zoom camera, and it is enough to have a justification of the need, e.g. that your car is expensive and necessary for you to live because it drives you to work. Or that someone has repeatedly scratched your car and subjected you to costs and losses, which means you have the right to monitor your property. And if you have parking spaces there, that's better too, but if not, a PTZ camera is rather indispensable. Just remember that you cannot publish the footage from the camera to the internet and neighbours and other interested parties can only view what has been recorded, but you cannot share the footage with them, only with the police. The police are very fond of cameras and never make a problem as long as the camera is not used inappropriately.

You can easily attach the camera to the central bar of the window (at my place it has been hanging like that for years). And on the balcony side to the ceiling.

The camera has helped not only me but also others a dozen or so times when the unexpected happened and it was possible to find out what happened.

With permission to mount the camera on the façade you can use camera mounting studs . Two are usually sufficient. You just need to check the thickness of the polystyrene with some thin wire and choose the right length of pegs.

Mounting dowel for a camera on a white background. Security camera mounted on a building facade using mounting bolts. .
