Seeking Firmware Dump for Toshiba 49L2863DG with Vestel 17mb211s Board and VES490UNDS-2D-N13 LCD

Where can I get a firmware dump for a Toshiba 49L2863DG with a Vestel 17MB211S board and VES490UNDS-2D-N13 panel, and can firmware fix the red/green standby LED fault?

A matching firmware dump was found for the same motherboard and panel, but it did not solve the fault and the evidence points to a hardware problem rather than firmware alone [#21011882] [#21012128] The shared software changed the LED behavior from alternating red/green to very fast green flashing at first, but when it was tried again the TV returned to the original symptom [#21011882] [#21012128] The dump from the linked source was the intended software for this board/panel combination, but it was also reported that there were many differences compared with the original saved data [#21012083] [#21011882] After buying another board, the SPI flash and NAND were read and flashed onto the non-working board, but that still did not repair it [#21023285] The final suspicion was that the CPU was dead, especially since the HDMI ports had already failed before the TV died completely [#21023285]

    Hi,

I'm looking for a firmware dump for a Toshiba TV model 49L2863DG (the board is a Vestel 17mb211s and the LCD is VES490UNDS-2D-N13)

The problem I am having is the standby LEDs flashing red/green. I checked all the voltages and they are fine, nothing else seems wrong with the board so I believe it is a firmware issue.

One thing I noticed is there is no USB power unless I jump the switch ICs that are responsible to turn the USB power on/off and control the current (no voltage on the enable pins), I tried updating the software from a USB flash drive but it doesn't seem to read it but I also do not have the correct file for this model so that might be the issue.

I attached the original spi flash dump from my TV.

For the same motherboard and for the same panel. I compared with what you saved and there are many differences.

Thank you for the file, I tried it but unfortunately it did not work, however the LED behaves differently with this, instead of flashing green/red it flashes green really quickly.

Is this the file from the link I posted or is it another one?

Thank you very much. I tried it but it got back to the original behavior which makes me believe the problem is either the software that is stored on the NAND flash or most likely there is another issue somewhere on the board.

I might have to buy a new board. I will backup the SPI flash and try to also backup the NAND and share with the forum if I end up buying a board.

I bought another board and as promised I read the SPI flash and the NAND, you can find them attached to this post.

I tried flashing these on the non-working board but it did not fix it, I suspect the CPU is dead as the customer complained that the HDMI ports also did not work before the TV ultimately died.

    Hope these files help someone!

Topic summary

✨ A user is seeking a firmware dump for a Toshiba TV model 49L2863DG, which utilizes a Vestel 17mb211s board and a VES490UNDS-2D-N13 LCD. The TV exhibits a flashing red/green standby LED, indicating a potential firmware issue despite normal voltage readings. The user attempted to update the firmware via USB but lacked the correct file. Other forum members provided a link to a similar firmware file, but it did not resolve the issue, leading to different LED behavior. The user later acquired a new board, backed up the SPI flash and NAND, but flashing these files did not fix the original board, suggesting possible CPU failure. The user intends to share the backed-up files with the forum for others' use.
