Fit a typical power supply with the same voltage as the voltage on the batteries and the current should not be enough.

Voltage of batteries is 9V 6 units.
What is "current"? voltage or Amperage? Enough or not enough? Pls be more specific. Would it be risky to fitting a power supply of 12V?

The battery type is indicated in the photo. The original power supply is for sale. https://ndsalesvs.pics/ product_details/89903488.html Pictured is a diagram of the original power supply. The image shows a close-up of a circuit board with numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 marked on circuit components. Electrical schematic of the original power supply. Avoid experimenting with increasing the power supply voltage as this can lead to problems.

Why are you giving a damaging recommendation? The power drawn from the mains supply is 15W and the 9V 1A is only 9W. Do you want the subject author to be looking for a new power supply in a day or two? You need a 9V 2A power supply.

What's written and what's in action is different, let the subject author test the equipment on a workshop power supply how much current it actually draws at maximum volume.

Before writing any nonsense, you should, at the very least, read the technical specifications of the product - The Philips AZ790/12 has a total output power of 12 W RMS.

    Hello,
I installed one power supply 9V 5A. The box started. The display works, the radio works, I suppose the cassette works, but the CD player does not work anymore. The menu works but the reading does not start. The reading stays at 00. The disk turns OK, I can change the number of the music recorded but the mobile laser light does not move at all of its resting place. I think it is blocked. Does someone know anything in the repair of CD disk player?

After all, it is possible to buy a 12v/2-4A power supply for less than £20 without any problem.
