How to realize in esphome the reading of temperature from ds18b20 only at the time of switching on a particular device. Also, the read data would only be sent to the HA when the device is switched on and at a time interval of e.g. 5 sec.

And isn't it better to read every given interval and ignore the readings that don't interest you?
