Three years ago when there was a crisis for inverters we imported Huawei inverters directly from China, model SUN2000 40KTL-M3 and SUN2000 50KTL-ZHM3, and we have already installed about 50 pieces of these inverters
At the moment we have a problem with the installation of those inverters in North Macedonia, during installation we receive the following message "Device from unauthorized channel detected". Access denied"
    Please help me

    I received this answer
Thank you for contacting Huawei service support!

Please note that your device was purchased from China so it doesn’t have the valid warranty, therefore we cannot provide the service.
  • ESP32 Modbus gateway for China-locked SUN2000 units

Hi @astoicovski, following up on my earlier post — I have ~100 of these China-locked SUN2000 units (imported in 2022, same answer from Huawei EU: no warranty, no service, no FusionSolar enrollment).

Since the cloud path is dead, I developed my own monitoring system that reads everything directly from the inverter over RS485/Modbus RTU — active power, string voltages and currents, daily/total yield, temperatures, alarms. The region lock only blocks cloud enrollment; the local Modbus interface works normally on Chinese firmware, so this works on 40KTL-M3 / 50KTL-ZHM3 as well.

Hardware is a small ESP32-based gateway per inverter, data goes to a web dashboard with history, charts and alerts — including separate access for end customers, so they get their "FusionSolar-like" app back.

I'm running it in production on my own fleet and I'm now offering it to other installers stuck with unauthorized-channel units. If you're interested, send me a PM and I'll share details and a live demo.
