Dyson V8 vs V10 — Need Help Deciding
I’ve researched which Dyson cordless vacuum to buy for the past few days because I need a reliable vacuum for daily home cleaning. I read reviews on The New York Times Wirecutter, Consumer Reports, and various tech blogs, and they all seem to agree that the Dyson V8 and Dyson V10 are both excellent choices.

However, I’m having a hard time deciding which one would be better for my needs. My house has mostly tiled floors with some carpets, a couple of rugs, and I have pets that shed a lot. I want something that’s powerful, has good battery life, and is easy to maintain.

If anyone has used either of these models or has experience with both, please share your thoughts! Which one would you recommend and why? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

AI: Could you share roughly how large your cleaning area is (for example, the square footage or number of rooms you typically vacuum each day)?
I usually vacuum about 1,200 square feet daily, which covers our living room, kitchen, hallway, and three bedrooms.
AI: What kind of pets do you have, and do they shed a lot of long hair or mostly short hair?
I have a short-haired cat and a Labrador — they both shed, but it’s mostly short hair that gets everywhere.

I have a V8, it hangs on my wardrobe door.

Cordless Dyson V8 vacuum cleaner hanging on a closet door with a floor head attached. .

Good for collecting hair from stairs and flat surfaces on a daily basis. This head is such a fiddly thing, in my opinion impractical, because for carpets it is better to have a decent hoover on a cable. But this battery-powered one does the job on a daily basis. Lightweight and handy. It is easy to empty with one hand. The battery lasts for about 20-30 minutes on "turbo", the usual mode (slow) is pointless.
I have an additional, interesting application for it - if some intrusive fly is sitting down, you can slowly approach with the hoover and pull it in instantly ;-) .

Overall, I don't regret buying it, since I got it the robot vacuum cleaner has gone, because it was more work to do with it (put the chairs in place, hide the dog bowls because it was driving into them).

One more thing the tubes and accessories are NOT interchangeable with the "big" Dyson.
