Hello folks, I have a project where I will be purchasing about 200 synchronous AC motors. The motors are less than 2HP, have a shaft with special jarno taper, c-face mounting with special bolt arrangement, and have to be synchronous. I need to understand the advantages / disadvantages of a reluctance design vs. a permanent magnet design. Any and all help will be appreciated.
