I little project that I am getting into. I want to remove a part from a machine for testing purposes. The fuse resides on a part that when fitted the fuse blows and machine interprets the blown fuse as a new article fitted. The problem is when I am fault finding I use new parts to identify the fault but when the fuse blows it is no longer 'deemed' as new by the machine. The machine's circuit is supplied by 3.3vdc and I want to connect the 'home made adapter' in series to perform the job of the fuse. The markings on the fuse are A and it is produced by Littelfuse and is surface mounted. You can see my problem I cannot solder new fuses on the board as there is not enough space unless I remove the blown one but this is time consuming and not practical. I have tried polyswitches and trips but the machine don't not accept them, I currently use a push to hold switch at the moment but the timing is critical and I get it right one in three times.
Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction on how to get a ultra fast trip , polyfuse or even a ic to do the job to help me save time and money. Also the circuit needs to go 'open circuit' and not resitance high for it to work.
Any advise or pointers would be gratefully recieved.
Many thanks
