I'm trying to create a never ending circle of blinking LEDs. The LEDs will be placed in a circle and one will be on at a time for only a fraction of a second. It will go around the circle pretty fast, probably once per second, enough to where the mind sees a blur of a light circling around and around. I am new to this but I thought there was a chip that would trigger different outputs by using a pulse. For example you would pulse and it would make output 1 high and the rest low and if you sent another pulse it would make output 2 high a and the rest low etc. Then you could just use a 555 timer to time the pulses. Again I really have no clue what I'm talking about. I don't want to use a micro controller or a pic. I want to do this as simply as possible.
Thanks for the help.
