Reasons for Open Wireless

It will bring about a new era of innovation +
Having ubiquitous open wireless networks will make amazing new technologies possible. Today, if a device needs to depend on always having an Internet connection, it must be bundled with an expensive 3G or 4G mobile data plan, and the inventors need to get permission from phone companies before they can innovate.


_On the plus side of this for people like myself I like that idea all to often than not when wanting to develop applications and asking or requesting Cellphone manufactures for information about ports, commands you more than often don’t even get a reply which is quite silly on occasions and restricts the development or design of other marketable products which in real terms could enhance the economy_


As we saw with the Internet itself, innovation grows as barriers to entry shrink, especially eliminating the need to beg permission from established companies. Open wireless will allow innovators to imagine what they can do with always-on, cheap connectivity regardless of where a person is physically.


_No such thing as cheap some where someone will end up paying for this don’t forget you have to maintain such networks that’s a costly ongoing process then of course we get back to this age old privacy story , finally if those ideas are any good they will be snatched even if you do think this is marvelous idea , Someone somewhere will want to take those ideas from you and utilize them for their own personal profit or gain , just shear experience and knowing how the world works tells me that already_

With open wireless, not only would existing devices like the WiFi iPad or Kindle Fire be much more useful, but entirely new kinds of innovative gadgets would become possible and practical. Want a phone that just uses Skype, or a free/open source encrypted online phone system? Suddenly possible.

_They will stop this make no mistake reason it would encourage terrorism and could prove to be an international threat to national security I already know the answer to this one before you even start out with this_

Want a wristwatch that always shows the time, weather, and other information from the Internet? Done. How about a quadcopter that navigates by WiFi? Or even a video uplink for your dog?

We won't know what unexpected but awesome new innovations are practical until we can get open wireless networks everywhere

_Otherwise its yet another good idea in some parts but I can see there is catch to this somewhere already_

What a great thing, and I can see that manufacturers and Telcos alike would benefit from such a thing. These companies in combination could supply this network as an open source experimenters network to start with and the shall we say, the technically savvy would join . It perhaps could be done with some kind of free license which amy require the user to allow public access th any innovation developed. Having gone myself down the patent path several times with no money ever coming in, despite one of the patents being a Gen 1, ISo just enjoy the experience and make a name for yourself, and nake other friends clever ones on the way. Make no mistake, large corporations are not friendly toward innovators as it creates the need for change. I too have never had a request answered by even one large corporation.
Here is a thought. Perhaps innovators could band togrther in a club and keep the innovations within the club, thus starving industry of innovatin (good innovation) causing them to come to us. Innovators generally have a high IQ, and believe me it is much higher than that of the people at the top of corporations. They have their own engineers, and although clever, they are rarely innovators in the true sense. Innovators like myself are normaly fiercely idependant, but we also innovate all the time, so our last invention is neither our best or last, so why not band together as a Union of Inventors who can have enormous power over the corporations instead if it being the other way around. Afterall we have the brains, they have the money. Force them tomeet 1/2 way and take us into a new age.

It would be nice if you could just get people to work together that are hard enough as it is

I don’t know what people are like in the USA but here its an impossibility they do nothing but argue and fight about everything Any reason not to and no reasons why they should do

Most of us sit here some days I think praying for a miracle to happen with some people That’s hard enough

One tiny excuse not to do something or action something is a way out of a challenge for them

They are that strange that should you send an SMS or an email with the exception of a few people guaranteed 9/10 They just dint answer This is a simple request with persons, people who would you believe who hold responsible positions in society are less educated and could do well to improve overall, You would think this would be easy enough wouldn’t you , Nope not a chance

I give you an example , typical reaction this , Last week having discussed the use of how may letters , customers our office look up , Tons of paperwork I think they must have a set of paperwork for every calendar day right back to the early 1960's ,a trundle pc and Microsoft word which was outdated back in the 70's somewhere I’m surprised they not still using a mores code key and telegraph punches

Any how to cut a long story short I recommended we put together a simple database nothing innovative just shear plain common sense, One you can find data within a few seconds , Two you don’t have to type out a letter , print letters off , haven’t got to spend hours looking up a customer , Three , spend hours traipsing through eons of paperwork m Four typing out tons of invoices manually , five sit there and hunt the Job which well if you had to see some of this you’d have fifty thousand fits not that anything has really changed apart from when a client rings up and wants a progress report There is no reference number you , No one knows where it is , No service history that’s immiediate that you can see right in front of you

The answer I got after showing one person how this works who said that’s brilliant we could do with this “ , was take that off the PC I don’t like office the typical negative attitude that you get when you can see the business is in trouble, knwoing all hell is going to let loose, eventually leeding to collapse especially in today’s times

The trouble is its not just their jobs that go Its yours as well so you wind up unemployed because of their refusal to listen in the first place and put something together which is for their advantage making all of you as whole company operate in a far more professional manor

Of course this doesn’t stop here , No don’t be silly then you have to try and get them to pay for this Aaaaah Argument time again and its the normall

I don’t want to spend money , I don’t want to do this because it means we end up paying more tax but what they don’t realize is

You don’t end up paying more tax because you get what they term as depreciation which means that with investments of this nature you can then claim back tax this works to your advantage

This is both old and young attitudes Of course the trundle , trundle computer is about to cease up , No back up , Also Normal , No smart phones wont connect to the internet , still sitting there looking really dumb because we still don’t have a business that is up top date with modern times and your looking up schematics , datasheets and trying to get answers out of other companies to actually do a job for which they as a company earn 16 to 100% what you are paid and more whilst you sit their trying to get some or at least part cop operation and or investment out of them so as to improve and keep the business open plus of course compete in the real world

Nope still not chance I think I must have a list or book as long as your arms for the amount of arguments you have to have with all of them before finally calamity strikes the companies fold and then of course its back to square one and its time to blame everybody else giving the politicians etc the opportunity to point fingers and of course blame the unemployed Normal this
