Is it possible to connect a battery and a dc generator together in parallel? I'm working on a project where we're driving some motors with power from a generator, but the generator can't supply enough current to drive the motors at max power. We'd like to put the battery in the circuit to help supply this peak current, but I'm not sure how to do this. As the battery discharges, it's voltage will differ from that of the generator, and you can't have dissimilar voltage sources in parallel. Anyone know how to do this?
