Need help in Final Year Project

Dear friend, I am going to make my final year project that is a power factor improvement of induction motor through pic micro controller. In this project we are going to use capacitor bank for power factor improvement. Capacitor bank is actuated by relay that is controlled through a microcontroller. I haven't circuit diagram. I don't know value of capacitor bank, please help me.

The value of the capacitor bank will depend on the induction motor shunt inductance.

Given a wide enough range of capacitance - from zero to some large value - a wide range of induction motor types can be compensated.

I assume your circuit will measure the phase of voltage and current and switch in capacitors for a power factor as close to unity as possible. Perhaps your circuit can switch in a binary bank of capacitors, such as 1, 2, 4, 8 ,and 16 uF, so that any value from 0 to 31 uF can be selected in 1 uF increments.

thanks for your reply. i had a problem in current transformer from which i am obtaining value of current. there is a already lagging faCTOR PRESENT in it. can u suggest me any specific current transformer.

Any 50 Hz current viewing transformer should provide an accurate current phase measurement.

Have you tested your current viewing transformer with a resistive load (unity power factor)?
