basically I was hoping to get some ideas on this. I'm a computer programmer, and so I know 100% I can accomplish what I need, software respective.
I plan to use either an Arduino, or an linux-booted Odroid (hardkernel.com). My computer case has a window, and I intend to place a visual synth on it. So when I play music, I can exact a response on either LED's or .
The easiest solution would probably be a grid of LED's attached to a film on the inside of the case. But I would much prefer an actual LCD of sorts. So I debated perhaps projecting an image onto the window, though doing that from an angle for aesthetics would complicate things slightly. Perhaps using a mirror would aid this angle issue.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a better solution.. I believe an LED film would be perfect, but I have yet to see a company actually sell it, let alone provide an interface that can be developed on. Cost is another concern with that.
The basic fundamental requirements....
USB communication, programmed in any language higher than assembly.
Any power source, I believe the 5v rail for USB would be far too low for such a project. So 12v DC would be a fair assumption.
Anyone with any clever ideas to accomplish this, regardless of difficulty?
