The pictures attached relate to the induction furnace I just set up. The work coil and secondary side have estimated values.
LTSpice says I should be getting about 26VAC across the work coil, and my multimeter says I got 50VAC. I measured less than .1 ohms (my multimeter only goes as low as .1 ohms) across the work coil. I also double checked the circuitry by comparing it to the schematic and measuring all the values I could (resistance and forward voltage). Each of my solder joints measure at most .1 ohms with the majority being immeasurable.
After leaving the circuit on for a minute or two, I felt the work coil, and it barely warmed up. I felt the MOSFETs, and they were just slightly warm. The resistors were fairly hot, but not anywhere near scalding. Good signs. I inserted a hollow aluminum pole into the magnetic field of the work coil, expecting it to be pumped with over a hundred amps, and it remained cold. I tried the same with a thick drill bit and got the same result.
I'm extremely clueless as to why it's not working. If anyone could give me advice, tips, or information that would help me, I greatly appreciate it. Explaining the theory and/or reasoning behind your reply would also be helpful and appreciated.
