Is it possible to create LED-iPhone cover?

Me and some of my friends have come up with a new innovative idea. The idea is to create a special iphone cover. It's a cover that is a LED screen. I just want to know if it's possible to create one and connect it to the iphone?

People spend much money on iphone covers and most people buy it because of the appearance. We will create a cover of LED screen and it will be connected to the iphone with Bluetooth. Then, you can choose any picture from your iphone gallery and it will be shown on the cover. So people don't need to buy different covers. They can just change the picture on the cover.

Details:
There will be a transparent plastic cover on the LED screen, so it will not break easily.
It will automatically turn off when you don't use your iphone, so the screen can't be hot and melt the plastic cover and you can save energy.
I think a simple app would be perfect to control the LED screen.
It will just be like a digital picture frame, very thin and simple.

Possible, yes. Easy, no.

I take that back. The easy way to do it would be to glue another smart phone to the back of your phone, done. But seriously, that's almost what you are trying to do. Strip out most of the RF (must leave Bluetooth) and the high-end processor (must still have some sort of processor), and, you'll probably need to have a battery for it so it's not a drain on the phone's battery. And, it'll have to be arranged so not to block the camera and speakers on the phone. And nobody is going to want to significantly increase the thickness of the hot slim phone they paid a premium for.

I think it's a cool idea, but you are probably going to see something like that integrated into a phone rather than as an add-on. I could be wrong.

LED screens take a lot of power, so it would quickly run down a small battery.

As a part of the external casing, the screen would be vulnerable to damage.

Doesn't the phone's own screen have the ability to display a picture when the phone is on/in use ?

An app for that function probably already exists, but if it doesn't, create one now and market it before someone else does.
