LED Circuit

Hi All,
I am interested on building a timing circuit using a momentary switch that will start a circuit and time out after 12 to 15 seconds. The output would be a few led bulbs. The power supply being 2 'aaa' batteries or similar.

Have you looked into using a 555 timer? I did a circuit very similar to this one about six or seven years ago and while I don't remember the details, I'm pretty sure that'd be a good place to start looking.

Or, if you'd like to get started with microcontrollers, this would be a very easy implementation with practically any type of uC. There would be greater initial investment and setup versus the 555 but it would be another good tool for your toolbox.
