I am having a bit of difficulty and would appreciate some patient help. I am attempting to build a model rocket launcher for my kids. It needs to have a key switch. I want it to have a red LED continuity light (Forward Voltage: 1.9 - 2.1 V Forward Current: 20 mA). And a green LED (Forward voltage(V): 2.3-2.5 Current(mA): 20) launch light that comes on as the momentary button is pushed. I would like it to have a 9 V battery as the on board power supply and have a switchable (1p1t) input for 12 V external power supply. I am building it in a small project box and would prefer it not be on a board but rather hard wire each device. i have included a link to a pdf of the rocket igniter specs here http://www.gwiz-partners.com/igniters.pdf
I have it wired up now so that the red LED and green LED turn on to show continuity and the push button shorts out the red LED and only the green comes on. but the resistor i have on the green LED i guess is preventing me from getting enough juice to spark the "estes" brand igniter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
