Measuring Vin and Vout on a DC-DC converter using two mom switches

Hi all

I have a DC-DC converter and a two wire voltmeter. The easy thing to do would be to use an on-off-on switch to toggle between Vin and Vout. But what I really want to do is use two off-mom switches. When I press one, I see Vin and the other Vout.

That's easy enough the problem is if I accidentally press both simultaneously I short the converter. What can I do to protect against this?

Let me add that I am a beginner bordering on intermediate with circuit building

Hi Justin,

I am not so sure about your circuit but in case you want to protect source 1 from source 2 or viceversa, all you need is to put a diode either of the switch that supplies the voltage.

"switch 1 or switch 2 output wire must have diode before the port you want to measure."
