*I have a project I am working on, with 3mm LED's, and I don't know what size of Conductive Thread to use without short circuiting within the material. Either 2 Ply, 4 Ply or 6 Ply. I plan on running the LED's 1 inch apart. Can you please give me an answer?

If you use a 3V power source, such as a CR2032 coin cell battery, you won't burn up your conductive threads. Another power source frequently used with eTextiles is a 5V lithium battery. Have fun with your project!

Its not the resistor that lights it up....its a current limit so it doesn't burn out the LED. So you need to know how many LED's your running, and in series or parallel? And what the voltage of the power source (battery) is. And finally the fwd current max of the LED. Many are 20mA but some run alot lower. So the resistor is sized to limit to no more than the max, but also must be sized out for the power dissipation as well.
