I am needing to find a transistor or a type of IC relay to trigger a basic 12 volt automotive relay. My problem is the switching voltage that is going to be my input voltage ranges from 9 to 13 volts. What is a simple circuit I can buy or build with minimum parts to make this work? The input on the relay coming from my IC is rated at 500 ma . Thanks

Hi!

Actually it really depends on the type of relay you are using. Typical 12 V automotive relays have a pull in voltage around 8V. So maybe you can start from there. You can look for an IC or transistor that can trigger and supply atleast 9V..
