AC to DC Adapter

sir,
i want to know the significance of current mentioned on Adapter specification

for eg.:
i have attached an image file
Input: 100-350V signifies the input voltage can be between this range,below which the Adapter will not work or above which the Adapter will burn out 
50/60Hz is the frequency range of opeation of the Adapter
Output is 5V

but input current 150-100mA->???
and output current-> 1.5A????

i dont understand both of the concept as
we dont have any control over current 
it will automatically adjust according to the load

so what is its significance??????????????/

The output current rating is the maximum output current the unit will deliver and continue to supply a regulated 5V output. The actual output current will depend on the resistance of the load as I=V/R. Complex loads will present a varying load resistance but the principle is the same.

If you exceed that output current, some adapters will reduce the output voltage until the current is reduced to 1.5A, other adapters will just turn off and then restart after a time delay. A few adapters will self-destruct if the current rating is exceeded.

As long as you draw less than 1.5A the adapter will deliver whatever current the load "requests".

NOTE. I made a mistake in the attachment.

For 350v pri winding it is 100ma and for 100v pri winding
it is 150 ma.
