Excel or software for estimating?

Hi,

I do my estimates in excel so far (have a template), but I´d like to try electrical estimating software. Can you tell me from experience if estimating with software is more effective or less time consuming?

I know the efectivity depends mainly on how large my projects are, but I would like your opinion in general.

Found it last month, edited it little, think it is quite good, but still no software.
