How do I choose what ports to use to connect a external flash memory?

I just started to get into the digital side of hardware and I wanted to get some advice from expereince engineers. I want to create a test board using the Microchip ATSAM4E16CA-AU and Toshiba Memory TC58NVG0S3HTAI0. I will be writing a dummy pattern and reading back for now nothing too complicated. I can do all the software but I just would like to know how one goes about picking the port or pins used to read/write to the memory device.

Well, first I do look at the datasheet for this. What are the available ports for this function. General I/O i guess.
