LM566 Overheating With Vcc=12V and 10.5V on Pin 5—Why Is This Happening?

I use Vcc=12 and an input voltage to pin 5 equal to 10.5 using voltage division as discribed in the datasheet. but LM566 starts to overheatting when the power supply is connected to circuit. Also input voltage drop drammatically.

I would be appreciated if anyone help me.

The LM566 is usually used as oscillator for power amplifiers. Can you should your circuit connection with the LM566. It might be with the other connections. I see the LM566 has high temperature stability.

Thank you dear Kevin. the circuit in which I have used LM566 (IC4) is attached bellow. also I have tried it independently as the 2nd attached picture. in both cases it is starts to overheating as the power supply is connected so that it wants to be failed.

I'm sorry to say this, but are you sure with your pin connections? Can you do a test circuit like "this("")":http://www.circuitstoday.com/voltage-controlled-oscillator ? If the output is as expected, I think the IC is fine.
