What are the basic troubleshooting steps for the Smart-UPS SMT1000RM2U / SMT1500RM2U ?

Suggest a solution for troubleshooting steps for the Smart-UPS SMT1000RM2U / SMT1500RM2U. I'm getting stuck with Overvoltage problem – Increased voltages for an extended period of time. 

Hi Jeff-APC doesn't release the schematics of their UPS's (I wish they did), so it may not be easy to answer. Please clarify- When you say there's an overvoltage problem- is the UPS complaining of high input voltage, or is the UPS delivering too much voltage to the load?

Jeff, I have used the same or very similar UPSs at work.  They come with a CD with software enabling you to connect to the UPS and set some parameters (the only thing I remember using it for was telling it how many battery banks were connected) but it may also let you set the input and/or output voltage ranges.  Have you got the CD that came with it and have you tried that at all?APC UPSs are reliable and dependable, they have been around a long time and we've never had much problem with them.  They do offer phone and email tech support (I am in Australia so it may be different for you) but I would approach them as well, I'd be surprised if they cannot help you or at least give you definitive answer to your problem.
