Monthly electricity bill calculation for factory: 1500kW, 0.76 PF, 10000kWh/day, 30 days

A factory has a contract capacity of 1500kW, 0.76 lagging. Everyday it consumes 10000kWh, peak capacity is 1600kW.The tarrif is:Usage Charge: 20 cents/kWhContracted capacity charge per month: $8/kWUncontracted capacity charge per month: $11/kWReactive Power Charge: $0.6 cents/chargeable kVarhWhat is the monthly bill (30 days)?

Evan this is not in my areas of expertise, but on the face of it there's missing information.The contract capacity is given as 1500KW. 0.76 lagging, so I assume that's what the electricity company limits are.  We are given what the factory consumes, and the peak usage, but how long is that for?  What is the power factor of the factory's usage?However I may be barking up the wrong tree here, I work for an electricity company so I will ask some of the metering guys what they think when I'm at work tomorrow.

Evan apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this.  My metering expert at work agrees that there's not enough information here.- We're assuming the "Contract Capacity" is what the factory can consume at the standard rate.- If it consumes 10000 KWh per day over 24 hours it will be averaging about 420 KW - well below the contract amount.   How many hours per day is the factory operating?- we'd need more information about how long the factory takes the peak 1600 KW, as that will determine the uncontracted KWh amount and charges- we'd also need more information about the power factor of the factory's equipment (my friend commented that 0.76 is pretty low, our standard's around 0.9, and there's an expectation on the user to correct the power factor to 0.9 or better.If you have any more information please advise.  Thanks // David

Look if Total daily usage = 12.89 kWh/day, then Monthly usage 30 days x 12.89 kWh/day =386.7 kWh/Month. Total Bill $118.07 for the Month. As there are different ways utilities charge, maybe day/night rate, time of use rates in half-hour blocs, weekend rates, etc. I hope you can calculate your Home monthly bill.
