Hey, I wonder if anyone was any help I'm out of my depth. I work on large gas carrying ship. As such we don't follow any regulation rules we do follow in terms of electrical design are sketchy at best. I have boss who wants me to install this 440V pressure washer. Which easyily done. However, he wants me take power cable feed it into cable trunks tie wrap metal n plastic into ceiling it in place it about 5m cable run. Then at the end use a plug leave it plug in placed. I was like hell no cause never use a plug for a permanent connection. He saying it no issue. But he comes from Asia I'm Europe and we follow diffrent standards of education. Our normal work is repairing generators and starters etc. I was wondering if there was any iec(another large international body) regulation that forbid plugs as permant connection. And even better if they clearly say not allowed to use plug for cable ty wrap down. And even better if states what a permant connection is. I know long shot . Any help or tips would be appreciated.
