Hello I am re-designing a battery powered screwdriver and I need help figuring out how polarity switches work. I was going to use a 3 position DPDT slide switch to control the direction of the dc motor, but I don’t want the motor to start spinning as soon as I slide the switch to an on position. I want to switch it to the right or left, and then use a separate button to turn the motor on and off. Is there a way to do this using a DPDT switch or should I use something else instead? I am a beginner so any help is appreciated!I have attached an image of the DPDT switch and rocker that I was looking at.
