Hi there!
I'm trying to replace an existing diesel generator that is currently sized as 400KW, 480V and 60Hz as a standby power for 5 different buildings. That diesel was installed in early 80's. there are 7 automatic transfer switches and 1 manual switch. There are few loads that are no longer used. So now I want to determine the maximum load using past montly test data in order to properly size the generator. I opened one test data, I noticed one ATS has been used as actuation and load testing has been performed for the remaining ATS individually as opposed to having more ATS at the time. How can use that data to determine the maximum load? And do I need to take into account starting surge current as well? Please let me know.
