I'm a Project Supervisor for a foundation that builds homes for severely injured Veterans in the United States. We're completing a home in Michigan, and the electrical engineer we hired for our back-up generator has simply vanished. We purchased a Kohler 12 RESV Generator as a back-up for the home in case of power outage. I'm not an electrician/electrical engineer, and so this is not my area of expertise. The electrician is saying we'll need a 17kW generator, but with load shedding that seems a little absurd for a single family home.
Would anyone be willing to help in completing a load calculation for the home? I can provide all the information you would need. This home is going to a very deserving Veteran that will have the freedom to live and move about his own home once this house is complete.
