I am looking to find potential setups of an off-grid system for a 4a climate zone residence. What kind of setup would supply peak need of 30kWh/day?This would be an off-grid microhydro (assuming all head/flow 24/7/365, etc sufficient to power continuously a turgo generator of 1,600w) The generator would be 400-500ft from the residence, so would the highest DC voltage possible be advisable to limit loss to the house? Assuming most efficient cabling. What are the considerations for battery setup? As I understand it, it would be best to set up the 2.3v 40Ah LTO 66160 batteries in at least 24s to achieve a 48v system(50.6). What am I missing that's important? Is it better to set up 4 of these in parallel to keep voltage the same and step up Ah to 160? And I continually see inverters set up with all other system components prior to being sent to the house which can be far away. Is this for ease of DC overflow from the Charge Controller to go straight to Inverter? Isn't this potentially a large loss? Is it better(assuming cable cost is the only additional cost) to run both lines all the way to the house where the Inverter is to power everything?
Apologies for the many questions within this. There seem to be many variables at play and I am unfamiliar how choosing each limits the options of all others. Thank you for any time you would like to spend assisting.
