How to Achieve Forced Turn Off of a Triac for High-Frequency Square Pulse Control?

Dear ForumI have the necessity to turn off a triac before the load current (load in serie with triac) goes to zero.This because, I would like to supply the load with many square pulse in a 50hz period, so regulating the power, but with a more hight frequency .Scope is to increase EMI performance (maybe of course).Thanks very much for your timeRoberto

Roberto,Is it necessary for your circuit to use a triac?
A triac is really only useful when you want to turn on the load (typically an AC load) and have it turn off at the zero crossing. For your application you might be better off with a relay or perhaps a MOSFET switching circuit depending on you exact application.

The device you want is a "gate-turn-off TRIAC". I don't know if such device exists. Gate-turn-off SCR's do exist.

Thanks For your reply..I will start to consider a GTO  or Mos..Basically, now we are regulatin power with a Triac, so, using only one part of each semi-period.This bring us to have EMI problem beetwen 150K-2MTring to solve this problem, maybe ,with help of GTO, we can cut the sinewave in more rectangle, for example, wide  100us, period 10us ,so, movng the spectrla component to HF, and ,maybe,avoid  a big input filter .Do you belive this could be a good idea ?ThnksRoberto
