It depends on where you are in the world.The time frame has slowly started to reduce over the years, from what used to be a 6/7 year apprenticeship to apparently 2 years now in the UK as someone mentioned to me not so long ago. Not sure about the 2 years, I haven't checked that. But it's usually around 4 years in most countries. And as Max put it, time on the tools is everything. You can see a big difference in tradespeople depending on how many years experience they have.Regards
