Testing a three phase induction motor. I do know that you set your multimeter to ohm's setting. Place probes between wires 1, 2, and 3. Ohm's reading should all read very close across all three phases (1 to 2, 1 to 3, 2 to 3). Then you want to test to ground. All wires should read OL on meter. If you get a reading when testing to ground then that indicates you have a short to ground.
My problem is I am getting OL when testing from wires 1 to 2 and 1 to 3, but when i test from 2 to three I get a ohm's reading. Does this mean that the three phase induction motor is no good? I just want to make sure before spending money.
Thank you
