Hello!I am working as an Electrical Engineer, and we are constructing an Academic engineering block of University, it has many electrical and power labs with offices and classrooms. It has the main 3 conducting busbars with a supply of 800A, 1000A, and 1000A. My question is that what will you prefer for insulating material either epoxy coat or mylar tapes between the conducting busbars? our approved item is epoxy coating but vendor promoting mylar type. If someone can share their experience/knowledge on this, it will be helpful for us to decide and make a proper decision.
Here are some links which distinguish its properties and benefits of epoxy over mylar.https://solepoxy.com/Tools/Broadcaster/frontend/itemcontent.asp?reset=1&lngDisplay=7&ItemID=2058https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_enDocType=Data+Bulletin&p_File_Name=5600DB1501.pdf&p_Doc_Ref=5600DB1501
The following link illustrates the UL class B (130C) of Epoxy material.

The following link is about Engineering Forum, discussion on Mylar, and Epoxy for industrial usage. It also gave the link of the IEEE paper about failures of the polyester spacer (Mylar) at low voltage equipment. He also gave a summary of the Arak Refinery plant of Iran that confronted a number of failures of low voltage equipment.

After our comparison and research, the vendor also submitted its technical rebuttal report on mylar and epoxy electrical properties which are as under as attached files.
