As you can see on the bill the conversion rates are also there, but the variable is the second number after the decimal point. I had kW at the beginning, but it was too unreadable for me. I currently use m³. My meter is not precise and was never intended to be by my definition. The current precision is enough for me and I correct it from time to time. I have created entities that count my daily and monthly consumption costs, of course adding the fixed charges, and for me it is ok. Of course, you may not be happy with this solution. I spoke to the branch manager of the PSG, who advised to install an additional meter for yourself and modify it. I would do it differently: build a meter from a pulse flow meter and Shelly with an Add-on overlay, write a script and that would be better, in my opinion of course.

But it's the total you pay for and it actually tells you how much energy the house is using.
Now every time you change calories with your supplier you will have a turnout. Although I don't know if you can get this from somewhere before the invoice

The measurement has its error and I accept it, the calorific value of the gas is not very important to me because I won't know how much energy my house has used anyway. Calorific value isn't everything, I don't really know the current efficiency of the boiler, which I'm sure has changed, so why get hung up on whether 1 m³ of gas is 11.424 kW or 12.411 kW. You would need to fit a meter for the heat energy generated by the church for central heating and hot water. I am not persuading anyone to do anything, for me, I emphasise, for me my meter is sufficient, and whether at the end of the day my encyte shows £1011 to be paid and the invoice is for £1031, it doesn't matter too much and you have to pay it anyway 🙂

    >>21851594 Yes, that makes sense, only it seems to me that this calorific value is fairly constant and basically only known from the bill (with a time lag). Here it is more a question of finding some reasonably stable dependence of gas intake on some measurable quantity. If we assume that the calorific value is fairly constant, it can be ignored in the calculations. I am writing without thinking further - maybe I am wrong.

    >>21851614 Have you perhaps got your eye on such a flow meter? When they replaced my meter I was thinking about a sub-meter, but I have too many concerns about that. I know blocks of flats have meters in the flats and people live with that, but I'd have this feeling that for the sake of fiddling I'm adding an extra element to the house that could be the cause of a leaking installation and life-threatening (e.g. a few extra connections + the meter itself). Somehow I feel better without it - it's not a water meter :) . But maybe it's just me being oversensitive. My meter from PSG is behind the entrance gate, outside....

    >>21851520 Thanks for those suggestions, I didn't know that. That's certainly a better direction than measuring voltage/current, just seeing that I'll have to get a PhD. I'm trying to analyse the topic with the furnace and AI documentation, but I don't yet know what plugs where, what I'd need to buy for that and how it would affect the ViCare, er, ViCare I mean, because I'd like that app to still work, and the Vitoconnect 100 Opto1 module occupies the only optical port. There's a separate port (two wires) for what you write, but at the moment I don't know if it's built-in or if I need to buy something extra. I'm looking into the subject - thanks!

I wish you good luck with your projects. As you will realise, every measurement system is based on an error; it is called measurement class; even the Large Hadron Collider at CERN has it. Once again, I wish you the best of luck.
