Crawford CDM9 - can ECS910 be replaced with ECS950 and add remote control?

Hi Good day.

Can one of the expert friend advise whether it's ideal to replace old Maneuvering card e.g. ECS910 (as per the attached) with Crawford ECS950 for CDM9.

Also, is there any after market remote controlling system for up, down, stop or half open etc.

Yes, you can replace the old ECS910 control unit with the new ECS950 model in a Crawford CDM9 drive and add remote control functionality. The modern ECS950 control unit is the official and fully compatible successor to the older 900 series control units designed for Crawford CDM9 and CDM10 motors. When replacing the control unit and connecting the remote control during system modernisation, it is important to bear in mind the following key technical points: Cable compatibility: the ECS950 control unit works seamlessly with the system cable connecting the motor to the control unit. Adding a remote control (radio control): the control unit itself does not have a built-in radio receiver. To add a remote control, you must purchase an external radio receiver (e.g. a universal or dedicated Crawford system) and connect it to the appropriate control inputs (step by step) on the ECS950 main board. Safety requirements: as the gate will be operated remotely (using a remote control without the user being in sight in automatic mode), the ECS950 control unit must be fitted with fully functional safety systems. It is essential to connect photoelectric sensors and a pneumatic or optical safety edge for the bottom edge of the gate (the so-called edge sensor). Without these components, the controller will, for safety reasons, disable the ability to close the gate remotely in automatic mode (Pulse).

The photocells are present in this site and work well.

However, we found that the pneumatic edge sensor was disconnected and the gate still works well.

I guess during the extended warranty service period, Crawford maintenance team might have disconnected the edge sensor connection (probably) when they discovered leak or hole in the air cushion/rubber.

In the image x7 terminal block 5 and 6 were looped with the green/greenwhite cable.



My question is, if we replace the old Maneuvering panel with new ECS 950, are we going to face any problem with the edge sensor? (If we don't use it).
