Hiya !! I have a question, if I have a walkie-talkie, can I also establish communication with someone who has a CB radio, or do the walkie-talkies only work with each other????

walkie-talkie is a colloquial name for something that is held in the hand and speaks through it. nothing more wrong, e.g. a portable radio for 2m is not a walkie-talkie, but a VHF, and CB works on short waves. I will tell you again that the range of short waves is quite wide and divided into bands so think about what band your so-called walkie-talkie works in. cb works in the 11m band. I hope you get what's going on. Regards

    Yes .
it has become common in many environments that handi (handheld) radio is always walkie-talkie and whether it is mobile or stationary CB .and it doesn't matter what bands they work on.
so buddy p5656, if the radios are to work together, they must work on the same frequency. in MHz. so check and you will find the answer to your question yourself.
    Regards.

that is, if I find a walkie-talkie operating on the same frequencies as CB radio, I will be able to make contact, I will be able to listen to the "road", "emergency" channel, etc. ????

From what you write, you need the most ordinary CB radio. For these channels what you mentioned, the simplest with the basic forty is enough. Just invest in a decent antenna, because it will probably be installed in the car. And don't bother with the naming.

maybe you will say that I'm fucked .... but I want to use a cb radio while riding a bicycle. so i am looking for a device that will be small and light and will allow me to communicate with people who use cb radio (father has a cb in the car). That's why I was thinking about walkie-talkies.

I highly doubt you'll find one. In fact, there was once a seller on my exchange who offered portable radios with several channels, and in this 19-gauge, however, the devices were very old and colossal, and the antenna itself was about 1 meter long. If you want the device you are writing about, buy the most ordinary portable CB in the ALAN 37 style. http://www.alanfrance.fr/images/248.jpg

Topic summary

Walkie-talkies and CB radios operate on different frequency bands, which means they cannot communicate directly unless they are set to the same frequency. Walkie-talkies typically function on VHF or UHF bands, while CB radios operate on the 11m band. If a walkie-talkie is capable of tuning into the same frequencies as a CB radio, communication is possible, allowing users to listen to channels like "road" or "emergency." For portable use, a compact CB radio, such as the ALAN 37, is recommended for those wanting to communicate while biking. Users can find lists of basic CB channels and their frequencies online.
