you need to dismantle the hydraulic unit and check the pump, but it's not fun for someone who has little knowledge, it's easy to mess up the job, sometimes it's better to look for a whole for a small amount of money

before you disassemble the modulator (I advise against it) check the power supply - there are two thick red wires and both must be powered from the battery.
If any are missing check the fuses behind the relay box.

Both red wires have power. I also checked the rest according to AutoData, among other things, whether the pump motor runs after connecting for a short time. And it does!
What's next ???? I suspect the controller, but can VAG-com only show fault 1276 (hydraulic pump) when the controller is broken? Shouldn't VAG also show this error?

I have a similar error, but opposite symptoms. Namely, the ABS pump motor runs continuously, it does not stop even when the key is removed. The only thing that stops it is pulling the fuse on the battery. :)

    Is it curable?

seat toledo 1.9 tdi 90 km 96-99 year I have a similar problem with ABS, error 1276 Hydraulikpumpe ABS-V64 - signal outside the limit value, while driving, when the engine warms up, ABS lights up, when it cools down the next day, it's calm until warm up the engine, about 40 km must be driven for the engine compartment to warm up well,
I dismantled the pump, I washed the valves and what I could, no effect, today I dismantled the ABS controller it was hard to split it glued to some sealants I struggled not to damage the controller housing too much, I probably found the cause, I gently removed the silicone protecting the board from moisture I found cold solder joints at the output for the ABS pump motor, this plug with two round pins in the picture, I corrected these February and a few others that I didn't like, I varnished it with a special plastic spray for printed circuit boards to protect against moisture and overvoltages (spray plastic about PLN 40 in electronics stores), tomorrow I will install the controller and in a few days I will let you know if it worked as soon as I go somewhere else to warm up the engine compartment well, here is a photo of the controller the pump was in the car (you have to move)

checked, pump and controller working, errors erased with a scale, after driving about 40 km around the city, the engine warmed up ABS did not light up, so the fault was fixed

    Hello
i have the same problem with error 1276 ABS-V64 signal out of value.
I checked it with VAG. only after disconnecting the VAG, the yellow indicator from the ABS started flashing and not lit as before connecting ...
Is it easy to replace this pump and will the brake system get air when replacing it? (and I would ask if anyone has a fuse diagram)

Anyone have any experience with this Toledo I (1L)?

I replaced the driver and error 01276 disappeared, but what did I get into it ... I got stuck, paws cut, access hopeless,
I still have to check the connection on the sensor, this time the right front and maybe in the end this yellow indicator will go out.

Hi. I will connect to the topic regarding my friend's Passat B4 1.9 TDI, in which I would like to ask for help. ABS did not work, the indicator light was off, vag com indicated errors 01276, and all four sensors. There are no speed indications on all wheels in the blocks. Fuse 3 in the box under the steering wheel is OK. We unzipped the connector at the ABS module and measured the supply voltage and here I hung up. First of all, using the diagram from https://vwts.ru/images/repair4/132783_07_wd.jpg, I found that there was a jumper between pins 16 and 24 in the plug. After removing this jumper, the abs and handbrake lights turned on. Moreover, there is no positive on pin 25 and no ground on pin 8. We started looking for fuses s 123 and 124 from this diagram, but the beam enters the cabin somewhere ... and I don't know what to do next. Could you advise something?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting an ABS error (01276) in a 1996 Volkswagen Passat B4, specifically related to the ABS hydraulic pump (Teves ITTAE 20 GI). The user reports a permanent ABS indicator light and a signal out of tolerance error. Responses suggest checking the power supply to the pump, inspecting fuses, and considering the ABS controller as a potential issue. Some users share similar experiences with other models, indicating that cold solder joints on the ABS controller can cause similar errors. Solutions include checking connections, replacing the pump, and ensuring proper voltage supply. The importance of careful disassembly and inspection of components is emphasized to avoid further complications.
