Hello, could someone help me and write how I can check the abs sensor, e.g. using a meter and if the meter cannot do it, what and how ???? please help in advance thanks :|

If you have access to the cube connecting the sensor with the car installation, then
When you connect an ohmmeter in the direction of the sensor - it should be in the range of 1-1.5 k?, and in the direction of the computer - a few M?. Of course you have to disconnect the cube. It is different in different cars - for example, in the passat, the front sensors disconnect at the wheel hubs, and the rear sensors have connectors under the rear seat.

there are two types of sensors, each of which works differently, write what kind of sensor it is

I assume that the reason for the desire to check is the lit ABS indicator, i.e. failure and shutdown of the system. As for the types, in fact, in addition to induction, they can also be hall effect sensors - enter the brand and year of this stroller .....
    Greetings J.
    ps
at a friend in the Peugeot 405 the ABS fell after replacing one axle shaft - after various electronic measurements it turned out that the new axle shaft used did not have a gear for the abs .........

    preferably on an oscilloscope :)
Write what abs driver you have
Such a code of silica or at least capacity

PEOPLE learn to write specific car details !!!

Measure as your colleague wrote above, i.e. remove the cube from the sensor, measure resistance about 1Kom, then you can check whether the voltage is induced, switch the meter to measure AC current and spin the wheel should induce voltage. )

    Hello !!!

If the abs is burning, connect to the diagnoscope and everything will be clear. If I remember correctly, this Ford '97 had problems with the abs pump, the motor in the pump is blurring there.
As for the sensors, as colleagues have already written, 2-wire resistance from about 900? to 2k?, if the sensor is within these limits, the sensor is 90% efficient, the remaining 10% are ground sensor breakdowns.

    Regards, TIR

    Hello, I have a Primere P11 hatchback 2.0TD 99.
How do I check the ABS sensor, i.e. where exactly where should I measure the resistance, maybe someone did it asked for a precise explanation :)
The ABS light comes on after starting the engine (in severe frost, the ABS works for some time, but when the road goes a bit and turns the steering wheel, the light comes on and ABS is gone :( )
    Thanks in advance

Topic summary

To test an ABS sensor using a multimeter, first disconnect the sensor's connector. Measure the resistance with an ohmmeter; it should typically range from 900Ω to 2kΩ for two-wire sensors. For signal testing, switch the multimeter to AC voltage and spin the wheel to check for induced voltage. Different types of sensors, such as induction and Hall effect sensors, may require specific testing methods. If the ABS warning light is illuminated, it may indicate a fault in the sensor or related components, such as the ABS pump. For more accurate diagnostics, using a diagnostic tool is recommended.
