If it is operational it shouldn't.

If it is connected incorrectly, it can also discharge the battery, although for 1 night a functional radio should not completely discharge it.

The new Sony models, even if they are efficiently connected without the key, can discharge the battery overnight. Same as Nakamichi radios.

If it is badly connected, the power end is still powered, even though the radio is theoretically turned off

Maybe it does a lot. To find out, you need an ammeter. We turn it on the yellow or red wire, depending on the radio. You can measure both of them, 1 time later 2. Usually the power amplifier is damaged, it does not switch to "stand by" mode. The radio in this mode should consume about a few mA, some even 1mA. The damaged one will consume a current of 200mA or more. Unfortunately, this will happen with a weak battery and parking in the open air. You can also check without an ammeter, then the radio should be noticeably warm in the back.

Well, the point is that often in radyjki they do not use tips with the st option - they only release 2 wires, yellow and red, one is to support, for example, the memory and the watch, and the other is to power the tip and a few other things so that the radio does not run out of battery, you need to connect it so as in the radio manual, i.e. yellow permanently and red after the ignition switch (sometimes the other way around)

10 spelling mistakes in your post are way too many - correct it. I recommend the Spelling key. damiancz

Hello and greetings! I disconnected the radio, the battery szrot (I bought a new one) I will write you a few words about this radio. it was wrong, but if you can connect them differently, there are two cubes, one power supply and the other speakers and antenna plug, the radio was playing, replacing the plugs will not lead to anything, I must admit that I'm green now, it's a pity because a nice mp3 usb, sd radio. ah and one more thing, radio stations did not go to listen to the distortion in the form of gurgling, damn it knows what it can be, the previous radio sounded good on this antenna, today I gave PLN 250 for the battery, maybe someone knows what can be with it ... thanks for the answers !!! :D

Again, a dozen spelling mistakes, if you don't correct your posts, they will end up in the trash. All you have to do is want it. Regulations, points 15 and 10.9.

Maybe it is enough to replace the yellow wires with the red ones, but let someone else comment on this

    My friend
Do as your colleagues advise you, measure the radio with an ammeter and share the results,
then we will continue to debate.

Hello. Ammeter and you know everything. I would also check the battery itself and the charging voltage. Regards.

I confirm that the car radio can discharge the battery. I had the Imago iM-C2 radio connected to the yellow and red cables directly under the + and after two days of inactivity on the car's auto alarm, I could not start. The current consumption with the ignition switch off was 0.27A. Connecting the red wire behind the ignition switch solved the problem.

I think that the topic has already been completely exhausted - I close.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the issue of car radios potentially discharging the vehicle's battery overnight, even when turned off. Responses indicate that a properly connected radio should not cause significant battery drain. However, incorrect wiring can lead to power being drawn even when the radio is off. Specific brands like Sony and Nakamichi are mentioned as models that may still draw power under certain conditions. Users suggest using an ammeter to measure current draw and check for faulty components, such as a damaged power amplifier that fails to enter standby mode. Proper wiring, with the yellow wire connected to constant power and the red wire to the ignition switch, is emphasized as crucial for preventing battery drain.
