    Hello

Today my problem is disconnecting the internet after connecting to the VPN. I have Neostrada and through it I connect to the company network. After establishing a VPN connection, the Internet disconnects after a few seconds (although the Dial-UP connection itself is still active). After I PING to any server, the console reports back to me: 'TTL Expired in transit'. My operating system is Server2008. Maybe someone will come up with an idea? ;)

Describe a little more about what doesn't work. VPN works? Connectivity to the company is?

If Onet or Google cannot be opened after connecting the VPN and GG does not work, the symptom is absolutely correct. Once connected, the VPN software modifies the network settings in such a way that there is only connectivity to the corporate network.

    Greetings!

It is not always the case that a VPN connection to the corporate network disconnects access to the Internet.
It depends on the account settings in the corporate network, whether the admin is giving out to the world through the corporate server or not.
Find out about the server's IP address, and select in IE Internet options in LAN settings connection through a proxy server, enter its IP address (or name), port, and check "do not use proxy server for local addresses". In fact, if your account is to have access, these boxes should fill in automatically after connecting to a VPN, but this does not always work properly and you have to enter the address and port manually.

After a FortiClient VPN connection, the network is disconnected.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around an issue where the internet disconnects after establishing a VPN connection on a Server 2008 system, with the error message "TTL Expired in transit." Users suggest that the problem may stem from VPN settings that restrict internet access to only the corporate network. Recommendations include checking the corporate network's IP address, configuring Internet Explorer's LAN settings to use a proxy server, and ensuring that the TCP/IP protocol settings are correctly configured in the VPN properties. One user confirmed that adjusting the TCP/IP settings resolved the issue. Another user reported a similar problem with FortiClient VPN on Windows 10.
