    Hello!
Well, strange things are happening with my Whirlpool Arc 6680 IX ( type cb 353W) refrigerator , manufacturer code 85 01 668 11 091.... Some time ago after returning to the apartment the first thing I heard was the alarm of the open refrigerator door, strangely enough the door was closed, after opening the door the alarm did not stop - so I turned it off manually , then closed the door and thought it was over. Unfortunately, I was wrong - the alarm sounded once again ( again with the door closed). On the control panel in the place where the operating temperature of the refrigerator should be displayed E ( no temperature indication). This time it only helped to turn off the refrigerator from the mains for a few minutes. For a few days everything was ok, but the problem returned, every now and then the alarm goes off, during this time there is no indication of the refrigerator cooling temperature ( the freezer works fine all the time its temperature indicator also). The refrigerator cools normally ( although I have a suspicion that even too well because a lot of ice and snow collects on the back wall), the freezer keeps the temperature all the time. Called "foreman" from the authorized service lifted the door slightly up ( he believed that the problem is in the magnet located on the door) and said that if this does not help, the main control panel should be replaced. Unfortunately, this is an expense of about 500-1100 PLN + replacement costs, hence the questions to you:
    - is it possible that some other part is broken ( thermostat type, etc,)?
    - is it possible anywhere to check and make this wonderful control panel ( the employee from the wholesaler recommended me to visit an electronics technician - supposedly firing resistors with the replacement of which is not much of a problem)
Thanks for your interest, and sorry for the length of the post, but unfortunately this is an issue that I lived for the entire long weekend ( night wakings to turn off the alarm are extremely annoying)
    Goodbye

I would recommend putting an additional magnet that the manufacturer has prepared on the refrigerator door and see what happens....

Thanks for the idea but unfortunately I tried it and it didn't work :( , I found the right magnet , attached it to the door and the problem as it was still there. Now I guess the only thing left for me is to unscrew this panel and take it to an electronics technician for inspection ( I hope that when I try to remove it will stay in one piece hehe). If it doesn't work - the refrigerator to be thrown away - unless the problem is in something completely different....

    Hello
I have just encountered an identical problem in the same model
I wonder if you have dealt with this problem
I was not looking for the sensor of the closed door and I would ask you to indicate the place.
What to send the board to some expert on resistors is pointless unless it will be the manufacturer.
The control panel is where the displays and I assure you that it certainly has nothing to do with the malfunction.
I bet on the motherboard, which is located at the compressor, but on my knee without all the components in the refrigerator, no one will check it.

    My respects,
finally managed to diagnose the problem - it was in a broken temperature sensor located on the rear housing of the refrigerator.
You can get to it by "ripping" the rear housing (tear off the Styrofoam). It is located (looking at the rear casing of the refrigerator) on the right side at 3/4 height of the cooling compartment.
You can also buy a new control panel, this will also solve the problem, however, only half. As I found out, the new panels are able to "bypass" the broken sensor and use only the air temperature readings inside the refrigerator ( from what I remember, I may be wrong about the source of the reading :) ). In that case, however, you'll be left with a broken sensor, inaccurate temperature readings, and high costs. The lowest price I encountered was 540 PLN ( the panel itself without the cost of replacement).
The repair cost me a total of 350 PLN.
Next time ( knock on wood) I will try to repair it on my own.
