I have a combi boiler Ariston MICROGENUS 21MFFI. I just replaced my damaged circulation pump with a new one. After turning on the central heating function, the pump turns on, the stove lights up and heats up. I am only puzzled by the fact that the circulating pump "works" all the time (even after the flame in the furnace is extinguished).
Can the pump in this boiler work continuously?

I was wondering whether the pump should turn off periodically after a certain set time after heating the water?

In my Junkers, the Eurostar works after turning off the flame until the water temperature drops below 40 degrees and stops, I have a room regulator, it worked constantly without a room regulator.

Which regulator do you recommend for my stove?

For me, personally, this is also the case with the pump.

It should be so, because if too cold water circulated in the circulation, it would cool down by taking heat from the rooms. This is what it is all about, and this is how it is supposed to work. Many furnaces have the option of changing this value in the service settings. For me, it can be set from 38 to 60 degrees. You can also set how long the pump continues to run after the burner is turned off, the so-called pump rundown.

Only if in my furnace (Ariston MICROGENUS 21MFFI) the pump should work all the time and is it possible to set the pump overrun time in this model?

    Friends,
Regardless of the type of boiler controller - constant temperature or weather-based - the pump in heating mode must work non-stop - it is the most normal in the world, but the boiler has no idea about the temperature in the rooms and only measures the water temperature in the installation.
The boiler cannot afford to turn off the pump because then there is a fear that, for example, the last radiator will freeze and the boiler will not even know about it - only by reading the water temperature in the boiler.
Only the temperature measurement from the rooms can give the feedback to the boiler controller that it is warm and it is safe to turn off the circulation pump. For constant temperature regulators, these are room thermostats, and for weather forecasts, remote controls are slightly more advanced.
    Regards

I have a De Dietrich boiler and the pump turns off. But I have the weather and an internal thermostat. I have not looked at what happens when the flow temperature is reached and the return temperature is equal to the exit temperature for a longer time, after turning off the burner, of course. There may be some periodic work algorithm for such a case.
I have not found documentation for this model, but if you have it, check if you have a room thermostat. On the web I found a pdf from Ariston MICROGENUS 23MFFI and it is stated there: A14 = External (Room) Thermostat. The cheapest one can be bought for a few dozen zlotys, some programmable for 100 zlotys. Of course, it works like a boiler on / off for CO - useful if you do not want to overheat the house during your work, for night weakening. Then the pump should turn off, and why should it go?
I found a shortened manual for the 21 model on Google, where they also write about a room thermostat, so you can definitely connect.

I installed a room temperature controller and it's OK :)
Thanks to everyone for your help

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the continuous operation of the circulation pump in the Ariston MICROGENUS 21MFFI combi boiler. Users confirm that the pump is designed to run continuously to ensure proper water circulation, even after the burner flame is extinguished. Some participants mention that certain models allow for a pump overrun feature, where the pump continues to operate until the water temperature drops to a specific level. The importance of using a room thermostat is highlighted, as it can help manage the pump's operation by providing feedback on room temperatures. Overall, the consensus is that continuous pump operation is normal for this boiler model, and the addition of a room thermostat can enhance control over heating cycles.
