Repair engine electronics, ESP indicator goes off.

In this case, the engine has nothing to do with it. I would rather suspect a steering sensor, which is the most common disadvantage of this model or the power steering controller, and thus its replacement and calibration.

Ok, read errors on all systems. I bet a good whiskey that the engine has nothing to do, but it crashes the steering wheel position sensor.

fuelinyourblood, you have never had a situation - Passat or Audi - the ABS (and ESP) indicator is on and there is one short information - "ask for errors from engine controller memory"?
    And in it ...

You are right about the VW group. Koreance is a different story. Besides, it seems to me that it is still under warranty? Let him go to the delera there for free.

There is only one engine error p2015 and the steering wheel was disassembled so the client informed me but claims that the tape, etc. are good, I will have Kia only on Saturday

Hello guys, I apologize in advance for reheating the cutlet, but this topic is very appropriate for me, except that in the twin construction of the Hyundai i30. Has the Dear Colleague managed to fix the problem?

    As they wrote above.
    check the engine for DTCs.
A fault in the engine turns ESP OFF

The ESP or EPS indicator is on because they are two different systems ???

Thanks for the answers. So yes, sometimes the ESP OFF indicator was turned on, it was enough to turn off the car and restart it and everything was ok. I drove like that for about a year, the problem was sporadic. Yesterday, the ESP, ESP OFF and EPS lights came on. The symptom was that I lost my support and had a free gym on my way home. Turning off and restarting caused the problem to disappear for a few minutes and then come back again. Several extinguishing and firing operations led to the fact that the problem became permanent - no power steering, which persisted even after the engine was turned off. I read that this is a common steering malfunction. On Tuesday, I connect the i30 to the computer and see what errors will appear.

From my tadpole battles, it's an EPS module to change the software, or to replace the entire column.

He will be able to rip the rotation angle sensor itself and put in a working one.
ABS / ESP also spits up due to a bump in the steering column, there was a campaign in the tadpoles for this and they replaced entire columns with power steering.

At the beginning, soft is replaced in EPS, and if the column does not help, but does it change anything?

    specifically, the relay sticks :)

Hello, after connecting to the computer an error appeared:

c1259 - control lever position sensor.
After erasing the errors and driving 15km, surprisingly, the problem has not returned.

So I wonder the rotation angle sensor is in this "STEERING COLUMN MODULE"? Maybe it is enough to replace the modules? (if I get anywhere).

damdam - could you please say more about it?

The fuse was sticking and caused power consumption at rest.

The steering sensor is another matter.

To recall both faults. Soft EPS and columns.

Interesting theory with this fuse :D

Hello today, a friend accidentally hooked up to my Hyundai i30 and told me that I had error C1259 and that it cannot be deleted. Besides, nothing is totally wrong, the car is flashing normally, the steering column + the power steering is working properly, but I found your observations, so I will step on it. And such a question, this relay that sticks, is it some normal access and does it need to be replaced ?? or something else to clear this error. Thanks for any reply.

From myself I will add that after removing the error via the interface (not ordinary elm cables, etc.). The error did not appear, the support was back.
I read that people replace entire steering columns and the error is still there. Such a replacement is a bit of a pocket, so it is worth taking a closer look at the aleternator and the battery. These sensors are very sensitive to power supply and like to throw off errors that can be misread.

I also recommend that you delete the error, replace the battery if it is already old, or recharge it. If that doesn't help, have a look at the alternator.
For me it helped and so far it took place without the costly replacement of the steering column (apparently it is impossible to replace the steering sensor itself, only the complete set).

First, soft because it is cheaper than the loudspeaker. Soft will not help and the oversight is then the column.

Hello, I have an i30 from 2007, from time to time the eps light flashes for me, sometimes it is off for a long time and sometimes often, twice it happened to me that it would hang - the light was on all the time and the steering wheel was too light, I disconnected the battery and eps as if it hung up and reset - it worked normally, it worked twice. What could be the reason ?

There was a software update to eps on the i30

where can you check it? and where is it possibly to upload only in ASO?

Stop sensor. Take it out, disassemble it, bend the plates, because one of them didn't make contact when pressed. Fold it up and plug it back into the car. Then turn the key 5 times in a row and the light will go off. Remove the key, then insert it and start the car. It worked for me. The light does not come on and the brake lights work. There was no mechanic. I have a Hyundai i30. Regards

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2007 Kia Ceed 1.6 CRDi experiencing persistent ESP OFF and EPS warning lights, with a Launch Diagun diagnostic tool indicating a P2015 engine error related to the variable induction system. Users suggest that the ESP issue may not be directly linked to the engine error, pointing towards potential faults in the steering sensor or power steering controller, which are common issues in this model. Recommendations include checking for DTCs across all systems, inspecting the steering wheel position sensor, and considering software updates or replacements of the EPS module. Some users share experiences of sporadic ESP issues that resolved temporarily with restarts, while others emphasize the importance of addressing electrical supply issues, such as battery and alternator checks, to prevent misread errors.
