Hello, I have a problem: Disk detected by bios, the problem is 0 LBA. The disk comes from a laptop, quite new.

    Seagate momentus 5400.6 250GB
    Model ST9250315AS
    FW: 0003SDM1

the terminal shows it exactly after connecting the power to the disk. the disk works quietly, I would normally say.

Is there any advice or do you have to give to someone from PC-3000?
    greetings

PS, although I am not sure if my adapter works well, I have connected 100% efficient 3.5 "seagate ST3250318AS drive and in the terminal only this:

    đ
    Rst 0x08M
    (P) SATA Reset

and nothing happens anymore, no command line etc ... do I do something wrong?

    set at 38400 8 N 1, bushes pop out at 9,600.

PS2: can I recover any data from this disk without fixing this vulnerability? I care only for one catalog with documents

I press the CTRL + Z combination, nothing happens. I use putty, I also tried hyperterminal. What else can I do?

Do yourself a decent terminal on MAX232 or eventually buy a Nokia USB cable.
    Then check these disks.
And put this converter on the shelf.

Hello again, I already have a TTL controller and it works normally, CTRL + Z and the command line F3 T> appears

I wonder what to do now - probably it is not a good idea to use LBA0 methods from 7200.11 drives here?

the result of the V4 command
    Reassigned Sectors List
Original     New    log log   log     phy     phy
LBA      PBA    cyl  hd  sctr zn  cyl hd  sctr     SFI

           Entries Entries Entries    Alts   Alts
    Head 0              0
    Head 1              0
    Total        0      0       0        0      0
    Total Alt Removals:    0
    Checksum = 0000

from the beginning, I think that it can be done by the terminal and normally available software but you will probably need to use the PC-3000 - I read that there is a new 'fork' option that repairs such drives with one click ;-) SA from scratch?

Can this method of 'fork' be transferred to the terminal, i.e. can it be played with only a terminal?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Seagate Momentus 5400.6 hard drive (model ST9250315AS) that is detected by BIOS but exhibits a LBA 0 issue, leading to terminal errors. The user initially struggles with terminal commands and seeks advice on troubleshooting. Suggestions include using a proper terminal setup, such as a MAX232 or Nokia USB cable, and checking for potential head problems or issues in the Service Area (SA). After acquiring a TTL controller, the user successfully accesses the command line but questions the appropriateness of using LBA0 methods from 7200.11 drives. The conversation also touches on the possibility of using a new 'fork' option in PC-3000 software for repairs.
