Can you tell me what do you think about the above hot air soldering station model 858D?

How about its failure rate and are there any problems with it?

Because I have a modest budget of PLN 120, not including shipping, I will rather not buy anything better than it, but sometimes it is useful for soldering smd or tightening the heat shrink.

Is soldering comfortable? Is the stock too heavy?

Ok, last question, does the flask vibrate during operation? Apparently, such a problem often occurs when we have a fan and not a compressor

Hello, I am also the owner of this station (about 7 months), so far I use it occasionally but the overall impression is positive. I use the head to solder individual elements and it handles it well, recently I also used it to desolder a few sockets (usb, com, etc.) mainly from motherboards and with a little practice it also handles it.
When it comes to its performance, I can't say much for now, it's without reservations and let's keep it going, the only thing that makes no sense in my opinion is this temperature display, it has nothing to do with reality, just as well a simple knob with a scale is enough there. The temperature setting is intuitive anyway, mainly due to the experience and knowledge of this station and what it is used for at the moment, when it comes to blowing, its regulation seems to be sufficient
So far, I'm only worried about the durability of the heater, I don't know how long it will last with very intensive use, the cost of a new one is about PLN 25, so it's still bearable. I am an amateur and I play with it in my free time but for me it is enough and so far I am satisfied.
The stock is handy for its size and you don't feel any vibrations, only sometimes it's hard to get to the element due to the size of the stock (diameter 32 - 25 mm) and the length of the nozzle.

Can someone post a picture of the inside of this station?

Hello . I bought a BAKU BK-858D station today for PLN 119 + PLN 18 download, we'll see how it works.

I just bought this model, it's the first station I'm dealing with. I desoldered a few small elements from the motherboard and what can I say.

Baku 858D has a metal housing, the cable connecting the stations with the stock is a bit short and thick, which makes it a bit uncomfortable.
Speed control works for me :) it seems that it gives the temperature quite decently (225*C of the SMD element could not be moved, 232*C moved).
A lot of bushes on the housing and in the insert, the manufacturer does not hide that it is Chinese, the finish of the station is very nice, the stocks are also fine.

The lack of a CE mark is not surprising.

I just don't know what the CAL button is for, because I only have a pinhole in this place. Probably temperature calibration at the factory level

I am also the owner of this yihua 858d station, all functions worked for me, I have it for about 12 months and I am satisfied with it and I use it not only for gsm but also for rtv and it has already put a dozen or so phones as for tv for smd chips it is doing really well so I am of the opinion that if you are skilled, you can run on anything :)

hello, I bought the above-mentioned station and the blower control did not work from the beginning and three segments did not light up on the display. After disassembling the station, I noticed the lack of the D13 8.2V zener diode. After soldering it and eliminating cold solder joints, it fired up. In addition, I put a small heat sink on the TIP122 transistor.

I will add myself because I want to buy specifically 858 due to the compact dimensions and that it works :)
Recommend which one exactly: 858, 858A, 858D, will digital adjustment with buttons be better?
Apparently Yihua was the best, i.e. with a working speed control and a ceramic heater with a thicker wire?!

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the performance and reliability of the Hot Air Soldering Station Model 858D, with users sharing their experiences and concerns. Many users report satisfactory performance for SMD soldering and desoldering tasks, although some mention issues with blower speed regulation and temperature accuracy. The lack of airflow regulation is noted as a common problem, often attributed to missing components on the circuit board. Users have successfully modified their units to improve functionality. The BAKU BK-858D and Yihua 858D are also mentioned as alternatives, with users expressing interest in their features and performance. Overall, the 858D is considered a budget-friendly option for hobbyists and light professional use, though concerns about durability and component quality persist.
