Hello, ladies and gentlemen!
I am going to buy 2 power strips for 4-5 sockets (not more, if it had 3 - it would be good). I am keeping an eye on Lestar LF2001G-A and LF2005G-A. Ultimately, one will be connected to a PC, monitor, laser printer, notebook (total power may reach approx. 1700W). To the second - a TV set and a set-top box, maybe a modem, router and recorder - so the power is about 400-500W.
And the question arises about the sense of buying such a strip. I have read a lot that it is worth it and as much as it is not worth it. Household electrical wiring is well done, not old, of course there is grounding. The idea to buy this came to me after the recent storms. The TV and the set-top box are on all the time, and you know when nobody is there and there's a storm ... something can go wrong. The last time I had a surge protector a few years ago (some APC) and unfortunately I was put off by it - it had a defect and the switch was burning in it (which I also read on the Internet that it was the same for others). Unfortunately, not only the strip burned out for me. From then on, I use an ordinary extension cord. I was wondering if I should also look for a British-style socket - with a switch, it is always easier to disconnect everything. Well, but I'm not bored anymore.
Is Lestar LF2001 a good choice? Or maybe ACAR XPROTECTOR ULTRA?
I care about relatively good protection and a solid switch which will not start firing after a few months (it would be good if the strip lasted several years
).
I would have forgotten: I don't want to spend any money on these strips.
Thank you in advance for your response,
greetings
