    Hello!

To begin with, I would like to emphasize that I am a complete layman on the issues raised in the forum, and may not be able to fully explain the nature of my problem. I decided to write to the users of the electrode because I would like to connect my TV set to the collective antenna in the block.

I moved to a new premises where the previous tenants used pay cable TV. For the first days of their stay, there was still a signal as their contract ended only at the beginning of the month. After they terminated the contract, the cable signal ended, of course, but I also can't set up the basic channels.

Hence my questions: How should I connect to the collective antenna in the block? - because I suspect that there is one, after all, not everyone has a cable.

Do I have to report this matter to the cooperative?

Is it enough to change some option on the TV? Currently it shows "No antenna signal or weak signal. Please check antenna socket".

The cable antenna "emerges" from under the skirting board and I have no idea what is going on with it - it also has three hmm .. metal cubes that look like signal splitters, or just a cable extension.

Is it possible that there is no possibility of watching basic TV in the block without signing a contract with a cable or digital TV operator?

Thanks in advance for your answers and best regards

Unfortunately, in this country it is possible in the past, collective antennas were everywhere, now it is not so. It happens that the TV signal is provided only by the cable operator for a few zlotys. First of all, see what's on the roof, ask your neighbors or go to the manager.

    Hello.

A cable system and a collective collective - these are two independent systems.

Cable (TVK), if it has disabled the signal transmission in the cable, this signal will not be there either.

In the case of collective installation, the best solution is to go to the Cooperative and report the intention to connect to this system.
The responsible maintenance technician should come and show you the cable that you need to connect to the TV.

    Greetings.

As a colleague above wrote: without contact with the administrator / building manager, it will not happen. There is such a thing as the Housing Law, in the field of RTV installations that are permanently broken.

You do not specify where you live in Elbląg, but near Elbląg in Jagodnik there is a TV transmitter broadcasting 2 and soon 3 multiplexes of digital terrestrial television.
    http://radiopolska.pl/wykaz/pokaz_lokalizacja.php?pid=77

The distance is short - only about 7 km. It is quite a tall object, you should see it with the naked eye, it is perfectly visible even from Gdańsk.
If you have a window or balcony with a relatively open view to the north-east, a small antenna outside the window will do the trick. Antenna MANDATORY without any amplifier - and which you will probably want to push ...
Unfortunately, most traders have no idea about receiving technology, and about antenna systems and digital television in particular.

The signals in Elbląg are very strong, personally a week ago I received two multiplexes on the rod antenna at the Yacht Port without any problems.
If there are "remains" of the collective installation in the building - and sometimes this is the case at 99.9%, it is not adapted to transmit digital signals.
