Hello, I have a problem that the microphone makes a terrible squeak, it can be heard by people I talk to on Skype and when I record my voice and listen to the recording.

I do not know what information I should provide, Windows 7, Realtek sound card, Asus laptop. The problem occurs with the microphone in the headphones and with a separate microphone.

So you exclude the microphone malfunction ...
Microphone input level is not distorted sometimes? Check in the settings if your amplification is too strong. Second thing, try turning off "noise suppression" and "acoustic echo cancellation". This is located under the "microphone" tab in the settings.

I lowered the microphone volume and lowered the microphone efficiency, the squeaking was just soft. I also turned off noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation, the problem still persists ...

Em I do not know how to mute the microphone volume in playback, in the playback tab in the "sound" configuration I only have speakers.

Click on speakers, properties, levels. There you have the microphone volume in the playback.

There's a hardware data sticker on the underside of the laptop, you can read it.

I installed it, so that in the speaker playback properties tab, a microphone strip appeared, which was not there before (my second screen). However, it didn't help at all, I can still hear that screeching sound when I say something, when I'm quiet it is gone.

The screech is coming from the speakers of the laptop or from the amplifier of another audio device?

I don't quite know how to answer. I record my voice and then, listening to the recording, I hear the squeak that comes when I start to speak. I can hear it from the headphones when I listen to this recording and from the built-in speakers.

Adjust the microphone sensitivity or move the speakers or headphones away from the microphone.
There is a feedback and the result is a squeak.

How do I set the microphone sensitivity? And I can not move the microphone away from the headphones since it is built-in.

Speaking to the microphone built into the laptop does not have this screeching, but nevertheless I would prefer to use a normal microphone ...

You may need to replace the microphone with another one.

Apparently, the problem requires service diagnostics, not amateur ones.
If you mute the microphone to 10%, is the squeaking also heard while speaking?
If so, there may be a problem with the hardware audio codec or something in its environment.
In such a situation, without experience and a good oscilloscope, you have no chance to diagnose the fault.

Yes, even when the microphone is very quiet it is the screeching sound. And why doesn't it show up when I am talking into that laptop's built-in microphone? And going to the store where I bought this computer will be the right place or maybe I can find some specialized place to fix this fault, if there is one?

As long as you still have a laptop warranty, then YES.

As long as you don't already have a warranty on your laptop, then YES
There are such specialized places, which I am just an example of.

If the equipment is under warranty, read the documentation attached to the warranty card, you should find relevant information about the complaint, or go to the equipment dealer.

The computer was bought not more than a month ago, so it is still under warranty. In that case, this is where I will go, thank you for all the help provided and have a good evening.
